Magimix Blender vs Vitamix Blender

There are many high-quality blenders on the market, but the Vitamix and Magimix brands are two of the most popular.

So, which one should you buy? Well, that depends on what you’re looking for in a blender.

The Vitamix is known for its power and versatility, while the Magimix is known for its quiet operation and durability. Here’s a closer look at some of the key differences between these two blenders:

Magimix Blender vs Vitamix Blender Comparison

Price: the Vitamix is more expensive, but the Magimix normally retails for less.

Power: The Vitamix is more powerful than the Magimix. It can blend tougher ingredients, such as nuts and seeds, more easily.

The Vitamix is more powerful than the Magimix, and it’s also made of a thicker stainless steel container that won’t crack if dropped or broken (common problems with other blenders).

The sharp side of the knife blades in most blenders goes right through food and makes cleanup difficult. At the same time, these blade designs can also be gentle on “hard” materials like carrots.

Size: The Vitamix is larger than the Magimix. It takes up more counter space and is heavier to move around.

Noise The Magimix is quieter than the Vitamix. It’s constructed of thick, clear plastic and rubber tires on the base that are louder than metal vibrations, but they still don’t make much noise while operating.

The Vitamix is made of a thinner grey material with no covering over both sides to dissipate more power under average use; you will hear this blender being used at full speed, especially when making nut milks or ice creams. Rubber grips keep it from sliding around so easily.

Jar Type

The Vitamix has a standard jar type, while the Magimix has various jar types, including a small jar for single servings and a large jar for family-sized batches.

Transparency The Magimix 4 and 5 jar is transparent, allowing you to see the blending process. With their power, the Vitamix’s blades remain opaque, holding ingredients firmly in place for a smoother & more versatile pureeing experience.

Color: You can choose between the clear transparent jar of the 5-jar family or a grey-colored one with stripes in their 4-5 jar line. On my tests, I found both to blend well. However, your choice will influence how you use this product, depending on your situation.

Design

There is no real difference in design between the Magimix and Vitamix; however, Vitamix recently released a new container for their products called the Pro Select jar.

This is where I notice any distinction between these two manufacturers being used. The clarity of this product shows all ingredients clearly, with one side containing an extender so juices are not wasted (thus only extracting about half the volume out) for those who might wish to add something back into the produce.

This case has a see-through glass where the Magimix relies on rubber grips to hold it together while blending.

Convenience: The Vitamix Container is more of an inconvenience in that you must use your hands (not only when using ice, for example) to unscrew and open both sides completely however, my experience with this blender dwarfs most hand cramps and unbearable issues associated with doing so.

Their container also has a wider capacity than the Magimix as well, allowing you to make 2/3rds more servings of your favorite recipe.

Satisfaction

The 4-5 Jar is especially convenient for those on diets because you can prep for one week and transfer it into this jar to use the next time that day comes around without having a stock take up an entire soup cabinet and take up valuable space.

The 5 Jars were also really easy to prepare compared to the older container. It was very easy to see what you need without having a pile of blends on your counter ready for use whenever you choose to make them, and this was possible due to an ample amount of holes inside each jar that allowed light and air to flow through.

The Magimix blender has less space around the ingredients, allowing room for juicing but not so much that it is difficult to close up, preventing spills altogether.

The clear jar is easier to clean because you can see the blending ribbon in action, while it would be difficult not to damage transparent jars if dropped with a blender on top of them (Vitamix blenders don’t seem prone to this problem).

However, the gray lids make the Vitamix blenders less conspicuous since they blend colors that typically aren’t blended naturally in cakes, ice cream, or other foods that are already.

Buying guide

When looking for a blender, there are a few things you need to consider. The first is what you will be using the blender for. If you are mostly looking for a smoothie maker, a low-powered blender should do the trick.

If you want something that can handle harder ingredients, like nuts and ice, you will need a more powerful blender.

The second thing you need to consider is size. If you have a small kitchen, you will want to find a blender that is small and easy to store. If you have a lot of counter space, you can opt for a larger blender.

Finally, you will want to consider the price. Blenders can range from around $30 to $600. If you are on a budget, you can find a good blender for around $100. If you are looking for a high-powered blender, you will need to spend a bit more.
